Enugu Rangers return to top of Premier League table after rare away win

Akwa United 2-3 Enugu Rangers
Enugu Rangers have again gone to the top of the
NPFL standings pending the outcome of Sunday’s
fixtures after beating Akwa United 3-2 in an explosive
duel played at the Nest of champions in Uyo.

The hosts were really taught a good football lesson
right from the blast of the whistle as the visitors
exemplified a lot of zeal.
Akwa United were supplied with flurry of attacks by the
Flying Antelopes and it eventually paid off as Harrison
Ibukun was forced to score into his own net in the 3rd
minute.
Fortune Omoniwari restored parity for Akwa United in
the 45th minute, but two goals from Chisom
Egbuchulam in the 61st minute and 74th minute from
substitute Enete Chebem gave Enugu Rangers an
incredible away victory.
Enugu Rangers are now topping the NPFL with 46
points, but they would have to wait till Sunday for the tie
between Niger Tornadoes and Wikki Tourists.
