Ms Jumoke Akinjide, a former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has been granted an application she filed.
The former Minister Urged the court to release her international passport so as to enable her travel abroad for medical treatment.
24repoters.com reports that Ms Akinjide, alongside the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Yinka Taiwo, are being accused by the EFCC or fraudulently receiving the sum of N650 million from former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke out the $ 115 million allegedly doled out to influence the outcome of the 2015 presidential election.

In a statement obtained by 24repoters.com the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) disclosed the permission granted to the former minister.
"A vacation judge, Justice Chuka Obiozor, sitting at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, granted an application filed by a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Olajumoke Akinjide, for the release or her international passport to enable her travel abroad for medical treatment.
"Akinjide and one Olanrewaju Otiti had been arraigned on June 22, 2017 before Justice J. O. Abdul-Malik of the Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State on an amended 12-count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of N650million.

"The case was adjourned to September 12, 2017 for continuation of trial in Ibadan, Oyo State," the statement read.

When she turned herself in, the anti-graft agency announced that it had withdrawn the detention order against Honorable Aliyu Ahman Pategi, a member of the House of Representatives, who is believed to be her husband and who stood surety for her.
Ms Akinjide turned herself in at the Ikoyi office of the commission in Lagos on Tuesday, June 20.
