Federal government sources have said President Muhammadu Buhari will return from his medical vacation in the United Kingdom next week after being away from the country for 79 days.

But the sources who spoke under condition of anonymity on Tuesday night, July 25, did not specify the date within the week when the president will be expected to return, Daily Trust reports. One of the sources said: "We have been told to be on a standby for the return of Mr. President next week. Everything is in place now for that. "

Another source stated: "We are very very hopeful that Mr. President will come back to Nigeria next week. This is the only thing I can tell you for now. "

The disclosure of the sources came hours after presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, told newsmen that he had no information about when Buhari will return. "If anybody is giving a timeline, that person might have information that we do not have yet. But the information at our disposal is that the President will return as soon as his doctors give him the go-ahead, "Adesina said.
